CLRA took the initiative to form the Indian Medical Parliamentarians’ Forum (IMPF) in 2006 and performed as a Secretariat and implementing organisation of IMPF. CLRA plays a facilitative role in ensuring sustained work parameters, day-to-day functioning, and other responsibilities of the IMPF. The IMPF consists of 35 MPs from both Houses of Parliament who are medical practitioners belonging to both modern and indigenous systems of medicine.
Hon’ble Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare is the Patron of the IMPF. Under the leadership of Dr. Anil Bonde, MP, as Chairperson, supported by Dr. Dharamvira Gandhi, MP, and Dr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy, MP, as Vice-Chairpersons, and Dr. Jashvantsinh Parmar, MP, Dr. Byreddy Shabari, MP, and Dr. Shivaji B Kalge, MP, as Joint-Convenors, the initiative brings together committed parliamentary leadership to advance India’s healthcare priorities. Their collective guidance and expertise play a pivotal role in strengthening IMPF’s mission of promoting preventive healthcare, improving access to quality healthcare, and fostering policy dialogue to build a healthier and more resilient India.
